Obasanjo visits injured soldier son in Jos

Former President Olusegun Obasanjo, on Saturday evening, visited his injured soldier son, Lt. Col. Adeboye Obasanjo, in Jos, Plateau State capital.

Obasanjo’s son had arrived in Jos to assume duties after he was discharged from hospital in Kaduna.
Adeboye was shot in the leg while confronting some members of the Boko Haram insurgents in Mubi, Adamawa State


He received his father at the airport and both of them drove to his Jos home along Wase GRA area. He arrived the place at about 6 pm

Adeboye’s platoon was attacked by Boko Haram militants and he was said to have sustained serious injuries.

Adeboye Obasanjo, an army engineer, is commander of the 135 Field Engineering Regiment, at the 3 Armourd Division, Maxwel Khobe cantonment, Rukuba Jos.

He and his platoon were said to engage the Boko Haram insurgents at Baza, the hometown of the Major General J.S. Zaruwa, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 3rd Division, when the attack took place.

He was also with Colonel Victor Ebhalemewho, who is serving as the Brigade Commander of the 23rd Army Brigade in Yola, and Lieutenant Agwu of the 234 Battalion when the ambush occurred.
